Functional Fitness in Wetherby

Functional fitness is basically any form of exercise that supports and mimics your every day life; be that carrying the shopping, lifting your kids, running for the train etc etc.

The most well known functional fitness brand is Crossfit, although it could be argued that some of the movements used in Crossfit are not 100% functional as per my first definition…walking on your hands to the shops anyone?!

Functional Fitness at Cyon Fitness in Wetherby is a mixture of purist functional fitness, using whole body movements such as squats, deadlifts, overhead presses, burpees and more, cardio conditioning such as rowing, cycling and running, as well as some slightly less “functional” movements such as handstands and wall walks. We include these because they’re fun, challenging skills and you feel super human when you master them. They might not be “functional” but they offer other benefits to our members and ultimately we want to enhance our members lives in as many ways as possible, including mental, physical and emotional.
